About Sy/Ty/SoGT
The GMC Syclone & GMC Typhoon were a joint venutre between GMC and PAS (Production Automotive Services, Inc.)
Featuring a turbocharged 6-Cylinder Engine, All-Wheel Drive and 4 Wheel Anti-Lock Brakes, the specifcations had more in common with a Porsche than a pickup truck or SUV.
A 1991 Acrua NSX reached 0-60mph in 5 seconds. The Ferrari F348 reached 60mph in little over 5 seconds.
In stock form, the Typhoon was capable of accelerating from 0-60mph in 5.3 seconds and could run a quarter-mile run in 14.1 seconds at 95mph.

The original purchase date was 3/22/1992, to Peter V. of Tuscon, AZ with 281 miles on the odometer. He enjoyed and pampered the truck for almost 10 years.
After a brief 2nd owner, #0261 was purchased by Joe K. of in the Summer of 2002. The truck was an anniversary gift to his wife Christina, whom flew to Arizona and drove the truck to it's new home in Hendersonville, TN. The Typhoon appeared at several SyTy Nationals, appeared on the cover and in the GM High-Tech Performance Supercar Shootout (December 2005) and even served as the ride home from the hospital for their two children. "Chicks Dig The Long Pipe" became the informal slogan of the truck, due to it's abnormally long tailpipe.

The truck remained under their care for 12 years, until it was sold in the fall of 2014.
Joe had always said that it was for sale "for the right price", but it seemed as no one
believed him, when all of a sudden one day on SyTy.net, a serious buyer popped up,
and before anyone knew it, #0261 was heading to a new home. Learning that he was terminally ill, Bryan A. wanted to own the "truck of his dreams", and it went to Montclair, NJ, where Bryan enjoyed it before losing his battle in June of 2015.
After Bryan's passing, his wife had his brother put the truck up for sale. Knowing the history of the truck, I contacted Bryans family and committed to purchasing the truck, sight unseen. After getting everything in order, I flew up to Montclair, NJ, met Whitney, promised her the truck would be taken care of the way that Bryan would have wanted and drove it back down to return to the Nashville area. Unfortunately, upon it's return to Tennessee, the historical tailpipe was no more.
